Hi, thinking about welding a new set of lca mounts myself(with buddy). Looks straight forward, but are there any gotchas I need to be aware of. This is not a trail only rig, but also driven on the highway. Was going to go with Artec mounts. They key off two points so setting them up seems easy. What am I missing? TIA

Or should I leave this to a professional?

It should not be too difficult. Measure before you grind off the left over stock bracket, get your caster right, put the bracket on the LCA and weld it on. Take your time welding. Weld 3/4" - 1" at a time and allow some time to cool. Too much heat can warp the axle tube. Most replacement brackets are made for axle swaps and made for larger tubes. You can grind the brackets to fit stock tubes, but finding the proper bracket would save time. Also keep in mind that the stock brackets location may not be optimal for a modified suspension.
