Revolution Super 35 kit w/o locker

So I was looking at Revolution's website for a Super 35 kit and noticed that they now sell it without a locker. Looks like it comes with 30 spline shafts though. I was always under the impression that you couldn't get away with 30 spline shafts with the stock carrier though?

That's right, you can't use the stock 27 spline carrier with 30 spline shafts. You'll have to source your own 30 spline locker or open carrier, though I don't think I have ever seen a 30 spline open carrier for a Dana 35. It's just meant for those who already have access to the right 30 spline locker. I would just buy the complete RGA locker/shaft kit and pick out which locker you want. For your Ohio winter conditions, I'd go for the selectable ARB Air Locker version.

Thanks for re-affirming me on this one Jerry, didn't think I was going entirely nuts. I just went to 33's a few months ago and am in the process of getting it regeared (3.73's and the 42rle make it a dog) so might as well have them throw a locker and new shafts in too.

I went with a truetrack and yukon shafts in mine. So far so good, I've been quite pleased with the truetrack. It's not a locker though so if you have a tire off the ground that is the one that will spin. So long as I've had even a little traction with one tire though they both seem to spin quite well.

Do they make a trutrac that takes 30 spline shafts?

Edit: nevermind, found one but it states it's for the Dana 44

I'm not sure, I still have the small shafts. They seem to be fine for 33" tires with the track lock. I just didn't have the money to do it all at once and I inevitably want a selectable locker back there.

Good memory. Superior Axle, who first developed the Super 35, did for a while sell Super 35 kits with 30 spline Truetracs but they didn't sell well enough. They figured out that people wheeling trails tough enough to require Super 35 kits only wanted lockers.
