Rock Sliders / Rocker Guards Guide

Yes, good plan. What do you think is best overall? Or is each a specific application that requires something different. I tried to keep mine consistent on my rig with 5/16-18 large flange. The only area that differs is those 8mm on the front Fluxor bumper. I love the metric torx option though.
There is no best overall. We don't need anything more than 1/4" and that won't fly with the lack of understanding most folks have about fasteners so we use 5/16" to satisfy ignorance.

Now that you say that I think I recall hearing 1/4-20 before. Good to know so I can pass forward. I’m stuck in 5/16-18. It’s nice that a few other spots like GT bolts and I think tailgate hinges are also 5/16-18.

I do not even know where to begin. What is with the odd hole spacing? FYI, that is about a .410ish hole. Not sure what to do with that.

Ok thanks. And I don't know, they were given to me and I wouldn't have the money for sliders otherwise so I am not going to complain. I need some kind of slider and so here we are

I was about to ask if someone who didn't like you very much gave those to you. Now I know. Are they as thin as they look in the picture?

It looks like the bottom flange is 1/8" thick. I've hit the rocker a couple times by now so I figured anything is better than that.

Use these from Belmetric. High strength for a screw, washer covers that gaping hole, high torque transfer for tightening, not terrible on the aesthetics. Roughly an inch long for any place a nutsert is used, if you run an internal backer under the door, add length accordingly. If screws are not long enough for your backer thickness, consider drilling and tapping the backer.

One stop shopping, they have matching nutserts.

Get one of the locals to assist with teaching you how to drill and locate properly. Beg, borrow, or buy a nutsert tool. AVK makes expendable versions, buy 2 or don't be like Jerry and expect it to last very long if you use it with an impact. They are hand tools.

I actually thought we’d never get to this point. 🇺🇸

The easiest way to describe this whole fucking mess is GIGO. One can NOT request expert assistance and then play fuck fuck games with the pertinent information required to deliver reasonably accurate solutions.

It isn't even hard.

Hey all, I have some rock sliders I'm trying to install. They are thin, about 1/8" or so but the mounting holes which are not countersunk are overly large or about 13/32". I need an idea of what nutserts to use and corresponding fasteners.

See, two simple sentences that will get you all the info you need instead of fucking around for 20 posts trying to get people to read your mind.

And

They really appreciate your help
