I've got an '06 Rubicon that I've replaced the stock frt. & rear lockers with Yukon Grizzly auto lockers. Can I just unplug the connectors & plug any hoses & remove the entire bracket & locker pump assy. without any ill afffects? IE., the computer doing any wierd things or anything else not functioning properly.

I’d lean toward yes, @Jerry Bransford will know I believe. The @symbols notifies him. If he says yes, those pumps will hand you the tools.

Someone may be glad to buy those pumps too.

Thanks for the confirmation guys. I was hoping that would be the response I received since I just got done pulling it all off. :)

Yes, the pump assy. will be for sale when I get around to posting in the Classified section. If anyone is intersted in it go ahead & PM me.

I weny for at test drive today & now my speedo is not working & soon thereafter a P0501, Vehicle Speed Sensor, fault code activated.

The original owner had done some type of locker mod, so I the wiring is not original to stock. It's been a few years & I can't remember exctly what that mod was supposed to do, but it is a common mod from what I'd read back when I 1st purchased the Jeep.

Edit: the locker mod was the Jeep Wrangler TJ Rubicon Factory Locker Bypass (use your lockers in 4 Hi).

Any suggestions?

Check the wiring and connector at your transfer case, it's the black cable in the below photo.

Thanks for the photo. With just a cursory look it appears the connector & wiring is intact & undamaged. I'll have to get a closer look later in the week. I'll keep you posted once I can dig in a little more.

You may have removed a ground signal by just disconnecting the lockers and leaving the system "open" as it were. Get the schematics out and trace those circuits. There are a LOT of ground splices in that area, more if you have an auto.

My apologies to Jerry Bransford & for my laziness for not closing this out.

For the record Jerry was right again, as usual. :)

Unplugging the connectors to remove the the diff. locker pumps caused no ill affects, nor the P0501 Vehicle Speed Sensor fault code I was getting.

I did find that I had a broken wire. Once I spliced it back together everything has been fine since. Those wires in that area are pretty small & in an '06, over the years, have become very fragile too. As I fixed one , another would break as in a cascading effect until I got them all secured & taped & zip-tied up.
