Sanden AC compressor questions

Ive done a bit of research, and the Sanden SD508 puts out roughly 8-9 cfm. They have the SD510 which puts out 10cfm, however it is found on cars that I doubt are located in the pull n pay here. Jaguars, Saabs and a VW vanagan.

I also came across a thread where the compressor was greased with red n' tacky to make it a sealed unit. Not sure how long something like that would last...

Interesting observation; the Cherokee 81-90 compressor has horizontal mounting points. The bracket I have are vertical. I found out that I could easily find the 709 (as posted earlier in this thread) and it is the one I want (91-95) xj and puts out 9cfm at 40 psi if my research is right. I plan to go to the junkyard tomorrow. Still not sure if I'll add an oiler or try and grease it...I guess I could always pick up two compressors...

I've seen one wrangler there over the years and within two or three days it was completely gone minus the body

Don't Sanden compressors require oil in the system for lubrication? I thought that's why most people use the York because it has an oil sump.
They do, but adding a tool oiler solves that. Or sealing the unit and greasing it. Both methods from what I have read work really well. I dont want a york, I'm going for a sanden unit for the sake of simplicity since I already have the early bracket for it.
