It only needs enough clamping force to keep the bolt from moving in the hole. Torqued to spec those bolts have 18250 lbs of clamping force. I recently put a Currie front track bar on with a 5/8-18 bolt which is 180 ft lbs lubed on the charts. Currie recommends 125 ft lbs. I did use a torque wrench on the TB, but never on a control arm and have never seen witness marks showing movement. I am curious why Currie doesn't recommend max torque on the TB?
