Savvy TT, 15 BMB Question

Hi All,

I have two questions. One regarding the NV3550 + Savvy TT combination and what noises are normal, and a second about the 15" BMB kit and revolution 1350 Dana 30 axle shafts. I've been putting more miles on the Jeep after the frame swap and just want to know if what I'm seeing / hearing is normal.

1) I've been hearing a few more noises that I think might stem from the Savvy TT. Firstly, when slowing down under 10 mph, I hear a rotational noise that can best be described as a haooomp haooomp haooomp. It is not loud and I believe it stems from the usually loud NV3550, but I just wanted to know if anybody else has that noise. Secondly, above 50 mph, if I push the clutch in or put the transmission in neutral, I hear a slight grinding noise. It sounds very much like the noise the NV3550 makes when idling in neutral. Is this noise normal? I understand that the Savvy TT mounts are going to transmit more noise and vibration, but considering that the entire transmission was just swapped into a new frame, I thought I'd make sure these noises are normal. (@jjvw, you run a similar setup to me. Normal?)

2) I also had revolution 1350 shafts installed along with my 15" BMB. I noticed today that the hardware on the BMB looks a little too machined. I've attached photos below. @mrblaine, is this ok or normal? I'm honestly not sure. It seems like a piece of the bolt has been machined down by the axle shaft.

The flange bolt is fine. You can pull them and grind them down to the same diameter, (the flange) all the way around or buy the ones from ARP that are already done. I've done it both ways.
 
Did you not grind the unit bearing flange bolts down, they self clearanced?!

I did not install it. I ordered unit bearings from Blaine, so those are good. I'm not sure if my shop took the bolts down or if the 1350 u-joint did.

If the axle shafts did, you'd have heard more than a "haooomp haooomp haooomp". There also looks to be extra clearance between the shafts and the flange. If the shaft doesn't wobble around in there (reach in and give it some good yanks) I'm going to assume that the shop you took it to used a grinder on those bolt flanges, which is perfectly alright.
 
Which body lift is installed? Any odd noise is most likely resulting from metal to metal contact somewhere. Mine has occasional noises that I have realized are largely the result of the squishy JKS body lift not delivering its advertised lift height.

That was my initial thought as well. I don't know much about brakes so I thought I'd make sure. I'll wiggle around the axle shaft next time I'm near the Jeep.

Savvy BL. Not very loud noises, but noticeable if you're listening. No weird vibrations at idle or at speed (up to 80 mph). Only thing I've noticed is a tad more driveline shutter in the shifter and steering wheel when accelerating immediately after shifting to second. First gear is also a bit harder to get into than it was before. Otherwise, everything shifts and sounds like it should as far as I can tell.

Agreed. Now that I look at it more closely, the shaft is not even close to hitting the flanges. Definitely taken down intentionally.
