Seat foam repair

I know there are no factory oem replacement foams for the tj. I plan on repairing mine. Anyone have experience in what density foam I need to match the tj stock seat foam?

I took mine to an auto upholstery shop and had them add foam on top of the deteriorating oem foam. Turned out great. The fabric is tight and the seat sits firm.

I've got the same issue with the driver's side seat foam. I just saw this video on YouTube and thought I'd pass it along. I might try a repair before replacing the seats.

Being you are in Maine, when you do this seat cushion swap you should also add heated seats.

I actually did install heated seats when I fixed my driver side seat cushion. It’s really nice for the mornings when it’s -12 like we’ve been having lately. I also installed a powered subwoofer under the passenger seat while I had everything apart.

I never thought about attaching it to the bottom of the seat itself. How is that working out for you (besides the wife always fighting you to try and drive while listening to rap music )? How did you attach it?

I have that same sub and love it. I used to run it in my Jeep but moved it over to my truck when the Jeep became strictly a toy. Awesome install idea. If it ever goes back in the Jeep I'm going to steal the idea.

Lol it was the easiest solution I could come up with and not have it in the way of anything. It fits in there really nice and snug and the cushion doesn’t seem to crush it whatsoever. I actually attached it with safety wire to the metal spring on the seat bottom. That way it moves with the seat base instead of being sat on. The funny thing is I really don’t even listen to music that often in the jeep. It’s mostly talk radio
