Seized spark plug?

Antiseize is find on spark plug threads so long as only 'just enough' is added. Some have no clue how to add antiseize without making a mess of things. Spark plugs don't tolerate excessive antiseize/any getting on the electrodes due to it being conductive.

What pisses me off is my local Home Depot ONLY carries WD40 and PB-Blaster. Two of the very worst at actually lubricating anything or performing penetrant duties.
But can Liquid Wrench do this? #52 and 54 are very important. ;)

One thing the test did not do was heat the nut then spray the penetrant on to the hot bolt.

Doing that the penetrant is pulled into the threads as the bolt cools.

I find that if I am going to take something apart I like to hit it with penetrant as least a couple of time a day or to before.

He did not test diesel fuel or kerosene which is what the old timers like my Dad used when he was a kid.
 
Walmart sells Liquid Wrench. They even have a Walmart in the boonies. 🇺🇸
You clearly don't understand the vernacular, "the boonies" is further out than the sticks. Out here in the sticks it's 150 miles to the closest Walmart...

Heck Boog, to get to the boonies you either gotta fly in, hike in, or pack in, because motorized travel is illegal in the Wilderness.

I stopped trying to get the plug to move for fear of stripping the aluminum.

Apparently I need some education on 4 bangers. Are the heads aluminum on those?

I have a vehicle with aluminum heads and all the plug manufacturers recommend against using anti seize as the plug material is specifically designed to prevent galling, and anti seize negates that.

Just the 2.4, the 2.5 is iron head.
 
Update: I have been letting the plug soak (provided the solvent is actually working its way into the threads) in 50/50 transmission fluid/acetone for the last two days. The plugs will still only move a little either way.

I saw one YouTube vid where someone ran the engine up to operating temp for a few minutes and then applied the solvent in the hope that the heat may help draw in the solvent. This is my next step.

Has any one heard of using an impact wrench to remove a plug? I saw a YouTube vid of a mechanic who ran a Ford Triton engine up to operating temp for awhile, then cut of the engine, and used an impact wrench to successfully remove a plug from the aluminum head. I am game to try this, but not too sure of the results for my situation. Sorry, but I failed to bookmark that site and cannot find it.
 
I've seen recommendations to try it with the head warm but not hot on AL heads. Apparently the AL is weaker when fully hot.

The impact will remove the plugs, but the threads in the head may come out as well.

I agree. The situations I referred to both let the vehicles run up to operating temp in the shop rather than drive them until they got hot. I also agree that an impact wrench could strip the threads. The impact example I referred to went from run up to operating temp, skipped the solvent soak, to putting the wrench to work right away with the hope that the plug and head had separated enough for the plug to be turned.
 
I wouldn't use an impact, you need to feel the pressure you're applying to keep from damaging the threads. Working the little movement you have back and forth and a liberal amount of penetrant should eventually free it up.
A galled thread will usually lock itself up from turning either direction, it sounds like yours turns freely in a small range. How far can you turn it, 90 degrees, 180?

seems like Russian roulette with the impact gun … but maybe a couple taps manually with a hammer on the end of a socket wrench handle would tap some carbon deposits loose?

The actual movement seems to be less than 90. The impact wrench is reserved as the last option before going the Helicoil route.
