Hahaha in all seriousness, leasing is a matter of opinion. IT also depends on that person employment. My household is self employed so Im able to right most of the lease for my wife while my car payment, is a fraction of that cost. That makes leasing for me, appealing and makes sense. Making blanket statements about leasing is narrowminded. Sure, I could afford to buy my wifes Q5 but why wouldn't I take the write off?
OP, do whatever is best for you. Personally, I bought my JLUR and barely lost money after selling it 6 months later. Its probably a better buy in this situation but if you want to lease it and save some money monthly or take advantage of the write off if you can, then do that. Coming to a forum and asking financial advice will get you a bunch of opinions.
