SKIM security disconnect

I was also thinking why can't I just jump the wires on the SKIM and eliminate it. That way the PCM thinks everything is OK.

It's not that easy to just jumper the module. IF it were that easy; the automobile thieves would be able to steal your Jeep very easily.
It's not like closing a set of dry contacts; the module actually needs to transmit to the ECM (the way I understand how it works).

It is just becoming so interacting to me that while driving it will sometimes come on and the instruments all stop working but the engine keeps running great. Than it clears and starts working again. Is there anyone in the Phoenix area that you can suggest that can tell the PCM to stop the Security System? If someone were to steal the Jeep I don't care. I have insurance.

Once the engine has started and progressed past the initial SKIM function, you can remove the SKIM module and it will stay running.

Find a wrecking yard in Phoenix, get a PCM from them without SKIM enabled that is year, trans, and engine specific. Swap that in, test it to make sure it starts and runs, send the other one off to get the SKIM disabled. Now you have a spare. Otherwise, it takes a pretty good bit of programming equipment that is PCM specific to do the job. If that was in Phoenix, they would be advertising PCM work.

Someone can correct me if I am wrong, but from what I experienced recently; the OP can purchase an 00-02 4.0L computer with an 32RH and SKIM disabled as MRBLAINE stated and use this computer while the original computer is sent off to have SKIM disabled.

I'm confused. The 4L60 is a GM trans last I knew. The 00-02 4.0 would have the 32RH as the auto trans.

Now I am confused... I just noticed that the OP says he has a LS3 and 4L60 conversion...
Can his LS3 computer talk with the SKIM ?

It is a 2005 GM Silverado 4L60 with Novak conversation. Does this answer your association question? Your knowledge and help is certainly appreciated.
 
I have learned a great deal from this site but just learned something from someone local that I thought I would pass along. The security key is gray and the system is an option. The black key does not have SKIM.
