Soft top windows don't fit

Recently I traded my hard top for a soft top from a guy on craigslist about an hour away. He did not sound like he was talking about and we struggled a lot getting the top on and when I got home I realized that the windows don't fit around what he called a "boomerang" (the thing that goes around the door that the window goes around). The other thing is that the zipper for the window thats connected to the top itself is way too far back and I have no idea whats wrong.

How cold was it that day? It can be a struggle in anything under about 65-75F.

ill take pics tmr and im in FL so it never rly drops below 80 lol

Even in FL the top can be difficult. Where in FL are you?
