Spare tire carrier / CHMSL alignment

And for my next stupid rookie question….

My CHMSL mount was in the back seat when I got the Jeep. And the wiring was (obviously) cut. I mounted it back up and immediately noticed that it set the light off center to the left an inch or so. Is that normal or did I get mismatched parts from my seller? My JKs were perfectly centered. It’s not off by very much but I’m one of those OCD nutty guys and need to know if I have the correct parts mounted up.

1 inch off center? Roll with it.

I usually just threw the center rear stop light in the trash when installing upgrade tire carrier bumpers.

I certainly get that. I’m just wondering if I might have the wrong mount for my carrier. The bolt holes line up and it’s not like there’s any adjustment in there.

The OCD is strong with me. Try a C3 Corvette. It’s like steering from the passenger seat since they had to angle the column to fit around the engine.

It isn’t centered on the tire from factory. Usually, it’s actually the tire is off center to the right to help the hinges, while the light is about center.

I seen it recall the stock tire carrier actually isn't symmetric and is to one side slightly as well.

One of those design quirks that seem odd but make sense the more you think about it. Like how the front seats are angled slightly outboard instead of being straight ahead
