thanks everyone I’ll check the yoke for proper torque this weekend. FYI the jb super short sye replaces the gear with tone ring and sensor. I do have a speed calibrate box and it acts the same connected or not.

Hi! Just checking in to see if this fixed your problem. I also have a super short SYE and my speedometer bounces all over the place.
A Speedohealer will not fix an erratic speedometer .
If your speedometer is bouncing you you should start by verifying the yoke is torqued to 200 ft/pounds and all electrical connections are good . If that doesn’t fix it you likely have a bad sensor .

Can't tell you if the Speedohealer fixed mine as I'm just finally back on rub within the past week and still much work before Jeep drives.
Getting that yoke nut tight was a bitch on the JB so if you didn't struggle, you likely didn't get it tight. I also bought this torque wrench (https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B002XMSFIM/?tag=wranglerorg-20) for the job as my old craftsman wasn't up to getting to 200 ft/lbs.
