Steering: how bad can it get?

Here is a front view. I can take better pics if needed. I noticed the drag link and track bar are not parallel. But...

That is the single most awesome fucking thing I have ever seen.

Which upper balljoints are those? Why is there a washer under the nut?
Drop pitman needs to be replaced with standard TJ pitman.
Remove zinc plated stabilizer relocation mount and put the stabilizer back in the stock location.
You have been told how to fix the sway bar links, do so.

Tell whoever asked you for the alignment print out to piss off until the rest of that is done.
Set the toe, center the axle and then tell us how it drives.

Cool, I have a new pitman arm coming on Thursday. I will fix the sway bar links and put the steering stabilizer back into the factory position. I will keep you posted. Thanks for the extra eyes on this.

Use the reply button under the post you are responding to. Otherwise we don't know if you are serious or just responding to the books of drivel that folks like Andy G. write.

Ok, you were so right about the sway bar links. I couldn't believe it was right in front of me, and I missed it. I fixed those today, and it is 10X better. I got the pitman arm coming in tomorrow, and I will let you know how that goes after I replace the one that is on there. Thanks for the advice.

To be clear-you will need to set toe, check caster and adjust if necessary, and then center the steering wheel after putting the correct factory drop pitman arm on.

Before doing any of that you should make sure the axle is adjusted side to side equally.trackbar is how you do that

Closest I could find on the ball joints is Napa Dorman https://www.napaonline.com/en/p/NCD2601291?impressionRank=7
Not sure why Napa gets them colored different from the normal Dorman https://www.dormanproducts.com/p-12...type=Suspension%20-%20Ball%20Joint&origin=YMM
other than because Napa, but both kits have a flanged nut.

Ok, I replaced the pitman arm, but I need to see if I can get parts for the steering stabilizer to put it back in the right location. I don't know how they rigged it there, but it will see. I took it for a bit of a drive. I can get it to 60 MPH without much problem. There is a little sway/wandering at 45 and 60, which is unnerving. But it is night and day better. I can't thank ya'll enough for the insight.

I am far from an expert so somebody may correct me but when you are done with your tweaks I'd test drive it without the stabilizer. If everything is tight and set up correctly you shouldn't notice a difference. If things aren't right the stabilizer may partially mask an underlying issue that you just as well correct now.

if you can't find new hardware check a 90s cherokee or grand cherokee. Hopefully the axle bracket isn't wallowed or drilled out too much larger than stock.

Remember, toe in and caster need set.
