Stuck Pitman

Guys,

Trying to remove drop arm and replace with stock, can't break it loose from shaft. Broke a new puller. Trying used alternating hammer hits, 180 deg apart, plus PB blaster. Nothing.

Must I cut it off or is removal possible, tips please?

Use a good pitman arm puller. It’ll fall right off.

I had the same problem I ended up cutting it half way through with a saw and then hit it with an air hammer where the cut was made.
literally fell off after one quick hit.

Snap-on makes the best. Just can't justify, I'll use only once, lol

Rent one. It doesn’t have to be SnapOn, just that style made out of decent steel.

Edit: I’d loan you mine if you were closer.

Advance doesn't rent these anymore, I'll check AutoZone, no O'Reilly's here, not a lot of good auto stores in area

When going to Autozone, they have three different pitman arm pullers. Make sure you ask for the heavy duty one.

Problem solved, cut off old (dropped arm)!
