Tach and speedometer not working

I know there was a TSB on 99's and I think 98's to remedy this issue. I don't know if 2000's were part of the TSB. The issue was with two bus connections behind the dash that are losing connection.

I have the same problem. Seems to occur more often when sunny weather and dash gets hot.

Any idea how difficult to get to those connections? Anyone have the 1999 TSB number?

Good luck with yours.

I don't have any more information other than my first post. @CharlesHS may have some info on the cause and possibly a remedy.
Appears to be a common problem on 98 and 99's across multiple models.

Im assuming this is an early tj..Take the cluster out and clean everything well. Very slightly bend the pins over. Your goal is to get a tighter connection when the cluster snaps back into place. Go slow and try it a couple times until you get a firm click into place. You can't be a gorilla and do this so be gentle
