Tailgate reinforcement

I have a spare tire swing away carrier that I don't want to change.

It appears the previous owner backed into something and it flexed the tailgate in where the snubber hits on the passenger side.

Has anyone ever considered overlaying the tailgate with a piece of aluminum bolted into the stock spare tire mount holes with some bumpers on it so that it doesn't sit hard against the paint... And adjusting the snubbers on the swing away and let them ride against the aluminum so that it distributes the load better.

Savvy makes the armor to do this, I have it on my TJ. It's literally a piece of aluminum that covers the entire tailgate.

I know Jerry's platform was that he would stop death wobble and that we would all get health insurance... But Chris has done a good job. I'd like to see another 4 years.
