My only problem with the brand new 97 I bought was it was 4 cylinder. Totally gutless and worse when I had the AC on. AC was required when I had to drive to work in a suit and tie. Glad those days are over.

Great interview. I am a bit curious what they would think if we brought up the paper thin Tie Rod. How did that make it on the hardest core factory production off-road vehicle in the world when they had the ZJ Tie Rod already in production from earlier years?

Wow. I left TX 3.5 yrs ago. Red McCombs had dealerships all over the place. I never would have noticed except I knew Gary Woods, who was Red’s partner. Woods at one time was part owner of the Minnesota Vikings, and later the San Antonio Spurs. He had a ranch a few miles down the road from us. I don’t think he drove a Jeep though!

Yes. I bought it from the original TX owner (retired military). He had every service record from the day he bought it. I even got the dealer window sticker.
