So, a recent Ram commercial was apparently filmed in Moab. Anybody know where exactly this is?

Looks like Caineville, UT. Other wise known as “the black dunes” or “Swingarm City”. Very popular dirt biking area. Quick google search and you’ll see a lot of pictures of that famous spot.
West of Moab quite a long ways.

Thanks guys! Was at my parents house yesterday when the commercial came on. My mom wanted to know where "it" was filmed at. Asked her if she meant the whole commercial, or just that one spot. "Just the one spot," she said. Several comments on the youtube video of the commercial had asked where it was filmed, and all "Ram Trucks" would say, was Moab. Normally, my google skills git er done, but this time came up short.

120 miles from Moab. I don't need a pic of it in person, but nice to know about it. If Iwas as heavy in dirt bikes, as 2 wheel superslab transport, I might have seen it mentioned before now. Cool looking place, for sure!!!

If it wasn’t so far from Moab I’d toss the Banshee on the trailer and roost the hell out of that.

Banshee's are the best sounding two stroke in the world! I don't suppose you run Klotz in it to, do you? Best smelling IMO.

GMRS will be the official radio of this trip. If you have a CB radio you are living in the past.

It’s time to adopt GMRS. If you don’t have it there’s a good chance you won’t be talking to a lot of us on the trail 😉

This is the one I ordered:

Over 50 mile range on flat land without obstructions. Do the math.

I'll be installing the MXT275 in my RHD TJ so I'll have one as well

Glad to see the adoption of the GMRS radios!

My MXT-275, 6db antenna, and coax arrived today. I already paid for and received my license, so I'll be good to go soon. Not that we'll need them, but check out which repeaters are in the area so we can get permissions to access them if we want to get some added range. Plan is to get the MXT-115 for our RV so I can communicate with wifey when she doesn't want to wheel with me.

@Chris , I was able to communicate well with @Indy and @Alex01 on our run last weekend short range with my handheld bubble pack Cobra radio. I've had them for several years for basic FRS communication, but they are also GMRS capable as well. The handhelds would be fine for short range trail coms. The HAMS in the group can access the GMRS frequencies.

That's my thought. People either need a HAM with the MARS mod, a GMRS radio, or the handhelds. Either works, but it keeps us off of CB, which at this point just seems like a dead technology.

GMRS is a good stepping stone into HAM with minimal investment, IMO.

With 50 miles plus of range on flat, unobstructed ground, I can't imagine why most people would need anything more.

Not to mention no messing with CB antenna tuning as I understand it.
