That is a smokin' deal. I can hardly find a 2.5L in decent shape for under $10,000 now.

97 Sport with 185k, pretty much bone stock, automatic, a/c, hard doors & hard top. Stole it for $5k 18 months ago. I have another $3500 in it, would list it for $12k on FB marketplace here in Dallas. You can't find one for less than $7500, they sell instantly. And those look like they were rode hard and put away wet.

I had to drive 2 hrs to get mine, and even then I had to gamble that all the issues the PO had were sensor related (I was right).

Got my 03' with 134,000 miles on it for $9,000 about 18 months ago. Sold it 2 years before that for $14,000. Mileage only increased by 1,200.
RUBI SKEL 8 25 BEST PIC.webp

wait, you bought yours back for $5k cheaper??
Yes. The guy kept it in his garage and rarely drove it. I texted him that if he ever wanted to sell it, I would buy it back. He said I built it and that I could have it back cheaper. Only condition is that if I sell it again, he gets it for the same price. I think I'm keeping it now. :)
p.s. He's rich and I'm poor. I think he felt sorry for me. 🥺

Prices are out of this world.

SE's are going for $10-13 around here.

Sports, X's for $15K plus and many are crap.

Sahara's for $17K

Rubicon $25,000 and up

I have a Rubi I am looking at on Friday for $14K. It looks like it could be in rough shape. I literally look every day through CL and FB Marketplace and have been for probably three months

Just remember ladies and gentlemen, you big money isn't so big money any more as inflation is now the rule. 14 per cent anually

Makes me glad I live in Va (for once).

If that thing has a clean frame, its a steal!

Here's one in Jersey at a dealer close by. Going to check it out (as I always do when I spot one on a lot) to see if its trash. In a decade's time, I have only found 2 that were ever worth the time, but not really the asking price:

Yep. Same here, I went to Tennessee to score this one. My brother turned me onto the deal. The old guy that had it died and I was able to show up with cash and a trailer.
I had it in the shop today on the rack, changed all the fluids, new brakes, tires, shocks and a blower motor resistor and it's ready to drive. Keeping it stock until summer, too damn cold to work on it right now!

Mine is a 2005 X purchased in Southern Indiana. I bought it in 2019 with 84,000 miles on it. Lift was already installed, Mickey Thompson Baja Claw tires and semi-rusted alloy rims (about 65% tread, but I hated the way they rode). Needed a new soft top, but the one on it was functional and didn't have to be replaced immediately - I waited about a year to replace it. Absolutely no rust on the frame or body and everything worked as it should. He was asking $11,900, and we settled on $10,500. Sold the Mickey T’s on Facebook for $575. I’ve probably spent about $5K on it since I’ve had it over 2 years. Some necessary expenses, some not.

If I were to sell it, I’d probably ask $16K.
