Help me build my TJ for Jeep Wrangler TJ Fest in Moab 2021

Following this thread. Picked up a Currie 4" lift last week and just ordered the Currie Steering System. Just hunting for deals a little at a time...and perhaps sneak some of this stuff under the radar of my wife.

Reliability is more important than anything else in Moab. Create a spare parts box and a place to keep it in the TJ.

Besides that, lockers and gears will be your friend. If you have a locked TJ on 33’s that is somewhat light, you’ll be able to tackle most trails in Moab with ease. Full doors and a hardtop make some of the steeper climbs in Moab less fun.
Thx that’s helpful to know to keep the Jeep light. I would have thought the weight might have kept it from tipping!

Spares like belt and Ujoints and wheel bearings at a minimum. I'm an east coaster, so folks that hit Moab frequently can give a much more precise parts list.

Parts would be serp belt, spare u-joints for each joint (and tools needed to replace), spare rear axle if you have one laying around, any unique parts for aftermarket something on your Jeep that's not a common TJ item, tire repair plugs. Also fluids (steering, coolant, engine oil, diff fluid, ATF, brake fluid).

Bottle jack, shop towels, bucket or something for catching diff fluid turkey baster for getting the fluids back in, JB weld (various flavors).

Probably missing what you'll end up needing but don't stress too much over it. You'll be running with a lot of other TJs so chances are if you don't have something they might. If nobody has it there is a good parts shop and repair shops in town.

Its a great experience. Again, don't stress, you'll have a great time.

(y) Do they make locker switches for front & rear in the TJ aftermarket Or is that just found in newer jeeps? Brands?
Lockers are way more than a switch. They are a means of mechanically connecting the passenger and driver side of an axle, thus bypassing or "locking" the differential. Some are electronic like the ones in the Wrangler Rubicons and they use a switch like a set of lights would, some have cable-operated mechanical controls, some are pneumatic, and others are "automatic" like the Spartan locker. Here's a really good video that explains the different types.

EDIT: If you've got the money, honey; go for a user-controllable locker (electronic, pneumatic, or cable-operated) because they are just full on when you need them and full off when you don't.

I'd look at your drive shafts and be sure all the Ujoints are good and tight. Same for the front axle Ujoints. As said, fluids and filters are key. A new drive belt and idler and tensioner pulley are a good idea. Steering good and tight.
What was so miserable about that last roadtrip? Other than ending up in NY I mean.🤔
Have a decent tool kit and some spare parts in the back. Try and be as light as possible, but still have what you may need. Don't forget the fire extinguisher.
Be sure to get plenty of pics to share. Enjoy.
When is the best time to change out your lift? (Miles vs years)

Unless you have money to burn, don't go crazy with mods for one trip. I doubt you will need a winch, and unless you're wanting to run the hardest trails, you don't really even need lockers.
If it's something you were planning on doing anyway, or something you need for local wheeling, then go for it.
