Since I bought my 2002 TJ a couple of weeks ago I’ve realized that prices for Jeep parts are out of sight.
I sold my 2003 Corvette last year and have been looking for a TJ since then. I had the Corvette for five years and it was commonly known that Corvette parts had what was called a “Corvette Tax”.
The same thing now on a TJ! Wow!
All the vendors for Corvette’s were in cahoots I think. Prices were the same everywhere. It seems, however, that TJ vendors have competitive pricing. Still high but I enjoy shopping for parts.
I‘m old and slow but I really enjoy doing all the work on my Jeep. So far, front rotors and pads, new soft top (that kicked my butt), new carpet, inner trans boot, repainting dash and door panels and a really deep clean.
It’s fun!

I have pretty good luck with EBay and Amazon is nice for the free shipping to Hawaii for parts. Amazon usually has everything you’ll need for the most part.

Welcome!

You can get really good prices on Jeep parts if you search the interwebs thoroughly. :geek:

Everything is bigger/more expensive in Texas.

Facebook marketplace good source too.

I've had a Corvette so I am familiar with the Corvette tax. The reality of it though is that this tax exists for almost any popular vehicle with a big following. Go look at a new Bronco, Mustang, etc., and I'm sure you'll find that you pay either way.

welcome to the jeep (just empty every pocket) world from down in east texas. fixin up a jeep is way more expensive than the two harley’s i’ve fixed up to my liking. swapping from a corvette to a jeep sounds like an adventure. depending on the vette’s year model i’d find it hard to part with. love the older vette’s up to the early c3’s. enjoy your jeep and this incredible resource of a forum. have learned a lot reading around here.

Sometimes you can find a comparable Cherokee part that does not have the tax. The guys who price these parts know the demographics of the owners, lol.
