TNT Ford Dana 44 high pinion truss

It looks to me like that UCA mount uses a stock-size joint. With the 3 link, that's putting a whole lot of stress on a small bushing.

I'd consider putting a larger and better flex joint in there (like a johnny joint).

That's also a good idea I'll have to add that to the list. Ive looked at the iron rock off-road variant.

Looks like they just increased the prices on the stretch tanks by $200 as well..

Good luck with actually doing that. If that is the same ~19 gallon GR stretch tank I was looking at, I couldn't come up with a way to get more than 4-5" past where the diff cover smacks into the stock gas tank at full shock compression. Additionally, the GR tanks interfere with getting the exhaust out the back.

It's the 23 gallon tank and yeah I know exhaust will be annoying to figure out. Probably just dump it out the side not sure yet.

Then you are most certainly not getting 7" of stretch out of that tank without moving the frame arch back with the tank, which is a big can of worms.

Probably. I got the all aluminum one I think it was 1900 all together with the fuel pump access panel.

Back when I was investigating GR tanks, one of the reasons I ruled out the versions with the aluminum skid is that the skid is not 6061t6, nor is it designed to use 6061t6, and I have seen first hand how easy it is to tear apart 5000 series aluminum on the rocks.

As for stretch I'll take what I can get if it's 5 at the end of the day I guess that'll do. Tanks already paid for and I'm a big fan of genright I've met tony and he's a cool guy, helped me with some ideas of the build and he knows his stuff. One day I'll get the tj to lj pieces and turn the tj into the lj everyone says to buy. I can't speak for strength personally but I've seen others give the aluminum a beating. Add it to the list of "guess we'll find out" 😅

Whatever fits your sensibilities and decision making.

Meh no one with an lj has ever really thought they should have a tj instead let's be real.

That may have been a bit tongue in cheek, or maybe that you have never hung up your ass end on a ledge due to the horrible departure angle, or never turtled due to the compromised breakover angle.

My rig is pretty big, but I’ve wheeled with built TJ’s that walk away from me. And it is at those times that I think, hmmmmmm… 🤔

🙂

One of my favorite rigs is a TJ tub on a YJ frame with a JK front grill! It is pretty much stock other than that:ROFLMAO:

I may of forgot to mention that it also has an LS, one tons with 40 spline shafts, and 42" reds. Other than that it is pretty much stock.

Here's my breather on the front axle.

I'm gathering parts to put I high pinion ford axle in the front of my LJ. I looked at the TNT truss, and the New venture truss. At this point I'm leaning toward Artec's jk front spring / shock brackets for the axle side. Just need to figure out a "bridge" over the center section to mount the 3rd link. this will gain about a 2" front stretch.

It sucks that Rubicon Express doesn't offer their kit anymore as it was a good option.

I'd look really close at the Artec stuff as others have had issues with it either not fitting correctly or their angle were all off or it was so big it just plan didn't work.

Out of curiosity I decided to call Rubicon Express and yeah it sounds like they were owned by procomp but now are owned by wheel pros. They discontinued that kit with no plans on re releasing it.
I'm surprised Barnes 4wd doesn't make it I'm sure they have something similar enough that you can piece together.

You'd think someone would pickup the slack and make one that was similar. As I said before I'm not knocking the TNT truss & if had been available when I'd built my axle I might have bought one.

Look forward to seeing your build and how things work out. So stick around and start a build thread.
