I have a high end ticking noise on my 2.5L 2000. I've read many of the threads here. I replaced the lifters (bled them), replaced cam and chain, had the head out to a shop for a rebuild, oil change (obviously) with 10W-30. There was definitely a previous noise from the #3 intake valve and that is now gone. This is not coming from the exhaust manifold, it is definitely from the lifters/rocker arms. Stethoscope has it loudest throughout the valve cover, not on the head or manifold as it was before. I was gong to try an oil additive but I don't think that should be necessary as the lifters are new. 211,000 on the engine. I've read that a ticking noise is "normal" but I'm not buying that. Any help would be appreciated.

How loud is the ticking noise? A moderate amount has been normal on many vehicles I've had or driven. Can you post a video?

My 97 2.5L has 171k and has loud lifter noise, well since I got it at 151k miles.
You have to listen hard to hear lifter noise on my 05 4.0L with 110k miles.
