I have decided to go with a Under Cover Fab Works skid. Bad Goat Offroad here in Anchorage priced it to me for $361 shipped.

I have poly engine mount lift and was wondering if anyone has any experience with a poly tranny mount?

I was thinking this one here. Anything good or bad that you could think of. I am aware I may get some vibration from the material it's made from. But other than that? Anything?

My understanding was to always go with rubber mounts when available, and that's what I did when I replaced mine.

I read somewhere that it's best to match engine and tranny mounts. Rubber and rubber or poly and poly. No idea on the validity of this statement, but it seems to make sense. Anyone else heard this before?

My experience with poly mounts has been nothing but bad. Granted this isn't on Jeeps, but vehicles from the past.

I think @Jerry Bransford will echo those sentiments. I always go with rubber when possible.

Absolutly, I had a problem with aftermarket mounts that although they are called rubber were horrible. I eventually order an OEM mount that solved the vibration issue.

I'm not surprised. Any "poly" mounts I ran on previous vehicles were a horrible, horrible experience. I'll never run anything but rubber from now on.

I put on a poly transmission mount thinking it would be better than the broken factory mount. Now the vibrations at idle make it seem like the trans is bolted right to the skid plate. I'll be changing back to rubber next time I drop the skid. In the meantime I get a free back massage at every red light!

I could not focus on the side view mirrors it shook so much.

Building on this idea, are shims required or recommended for the tranny mount replacement if there is a TC drop (1 - 1/2") on the jeep? Two of the four studs connecting to the crossmember were broken off from my OEM mount & I'm wondering is that's a big reason why. (bending of the studs due to angular mis-alignment from the steeper power-train angle.)

Or maybe there will be enough 'give' in the rubber to accommodate?
