Hey good day this is not one of my normal post but here I go. I purchased a 1987-06 Jeep YJ TJ XJ MJ NP231 Transfer Case Slip Yoke Eliminator Kit RT24005 brand new for my 2006 Jeep Wrangler TJ X series and I recently installed it, watch couple videos on YouTube to make sure I was doing the right thing but for some reason I can’t tighten the yoke nut. Every time I tighten the rear yoke nut the yoke wouldn’t move so I have to keep it slack for it to work and whenever I engage 4WD Low and drive forward it stay in but as I engage reverse it slipped right out. These are the challenges I’m facing. Is there something that I am missing ? Am I the first person to reach out with these issues ? Did I order the right kit ? Please I hope and pray someone could help me with this

Just so im clear..you are attempting to torque the nut on the rear yoke and the yoke won't turn?

...to be even more clear, are you (that is, OP) saying that if you tighten the yoke nut enough, the yoke stops turning? And keeping it looser allows the yoke to spin freely?

I attempt torquing the rear yoke to the correct foot lbs but as I am finish the yoke wouldn’t spin freely. I don’t know why is like that

Ok did you change anything else OTHER than the SYE components?

Is it hard to turn because you're attempting to spin the transfer case drivetrain? Or is it bound up? Put the t-case in neutral, same result? The yoke itself splines on, right? So unless it's bottoming out on something the ability to turn it shouldn't ever change as you torque the nut.

The rear output shaft that the yoke nut screw on to keep jamming the yoke whenever I tighten the nut

If it were me I would pull the t-case back out and open up the case and see what is happening

Do you have a tool like this to hold the yoke while you torque the nut?

Remind me what the torque specs are. I know it’s over 150ft/lbs.

That isn't his problem..what he is saying is when the yoke but is torqued the yoke binds up and won't rotate

Snap ring ?? Never done one, so maybe ask Advance Adapters in email or other ??

I literally did my SS SYE on my 2005 X last weekend.

Unfortunately mine is a Super Short so a little different.

But, looking at your kit online search, there are a lot of snap rings (2 I believe on the outer section.)

Did you go back and make sure every single one is in the right spot? Are the sprockets or gears all in the correct direction?

I wouldn’t pull it off yet, you have pics, do a mental run through of the paper directions. Everything that comes off and goes on, are they all there in the correct direction?
I wish I had better advice, that and call the manufacturer, they may have heard of this happen.

I'd contact Crown. I believe the RT24005 is a Crown unit. Check the snap rings as well but there could be bad tolerances on the shaft causing it to bind when the yoke is tight due to lateral movement of the shaft.

I would agree with this. I hat to say this, but I've read on here that @mrblaine has seen bad tolerances on Crown equipment, not sure specifically on this kit, but he's talked about Knuckles I believe from Crown being off by enough to make life miserable. I think I read "I wouldn't trust their stuff as far as I can throw it" or something to that affect. But.....I may have mis-understood.

X3 on the verifying snap ring locations.
IF you happen to remove the output shaft housing and yoke again; I would inspect the inside and outside of the housing for signs of contact from the yoke.
