Looks like Savvy is showing them in stock but not sure if that is legit or a teaser.

Research reveals Steinjager and B&M both have cable shifters as well and both are readily available. I have zero complaints about the B&M short shift. One of my favorite mods.

I am not good with waiting on the mail. Should I order from Savvy or go with an alternative and if the latter, which one?

Ordered mine from Savvy on the 20th and got a shipping notification on the 21st that shows it should be here the 26th.

The other one that most seem to recommend is the Novak which is a bit more expensive than the Savvy and others.

Thank you!
Does the Savvy unit require a body lift?

Nope. I ordered mine from Savvy and received it in 3 or 4 days. I emailed him first to ask how long it would take and I received an email back the same day telling me I would receive it in a few days and I did. No lift here.

None of them should since that is the entire reason for a cable shifter to exist. It follows the drivetrain level without needing adjustment since it is no longer dependent on the relationship between the tub and drivetrain to function correctly.

I got a Novak before I knew anything about Savvy. It solved the original mechanism shortcomings without creating any other issues for me. I've read about some design shortcomings in the Novak but I'm not able to comment.

It isn't unpopular, some of us just don't like dumb design work for the sake of being cheap.

I have a Stienjager sitting in the garage. It just didn’t work right in my Jeep.

Replaced with a Savvy shifter that worked correctly right out of the box with minimal fuss.

While I do have the Savvy unit ordered, and should have it by Friday, curious as to opinions on the Advanced Adapters cable shifter. I know it is a few bucks more but it includes the shorter “lay-down” shift lever with knob. It does away with the gate for 4Lo. Considering I also purchased a straight lever for the transfer case and the needed shift knob, the cost difference isn’t that much if anything.

Not much chatter here about the Advanced Adapters cable shifter.

Do tell..

I get that it gets rid of the 4lo gate and includes the shifter, but it's double the price. Price alone would be my guess, plus Savvy is king in these parts! lol

I was a little nervous when my shopping didn't update for a day or two, but shows it should be here tomorrow and the progress has updated.

I’m into the project for $290 when including the straight shift lever and knob. And I am anticipating the aftermarket lever is going to need some modification.

Savvy cable shifter was $179 on Amazon.
Straight shift lever for stock shift assembly was $55 shipped (eBay seller never resurfaced so I purchased from a forum member)
Shift knob $55 from eBay seller core-shifters. Can be found for less but I wanted a smaller knob to match the B&M transmission shift knob.

The Advanced Adapters cable shifter is $285.

Done is done. I am not returning what I have on order but had I found the Advanced Adapters unit before I ordered…

I would look at the JB Custom Fab as they offer more options and less expensive. https://jb-custom-fabrication.mysho...hifter-single-np231-billet-style-p-n-np231j-1
