Noise coming from under jeep, I am assuming it's the transfer case. Using a rebuild kit? Looking for thoughts advice???? Thanks

I'd be sure what is the problem before ordering parts. How do all the fluid levels look? How old is the fluid? Any water in there? Any leaks? What type of noise? Trans mount in good shape? Exhaust tight and no leaks? Skidplate tight? How about Ujoints on the driveshafts?
I'd check all these out before I rebuild a gearbox that may or may not have a problem.

Mine chirps a little bit when it’s cold. It quiets dont if I put it into 4wd and drive about 1/4 mile. Doesn’t do it when the jeep has been driving a few miles. It sounds like either a worn cardion joint or front output bearing. Or low fluid.

Sorry guys I'm new to these chat rooms. The sound is like something is dry. Had the front wheels up with the transmission in neutral. The wheels wouldn't turn with the jeep in 4L 4H or 2H? Checked transfercase fluid, it filled and gray. Ujoints are tight no play?

Like I said the noise sounds like its dry and has a slight rattle. Thanks and appreciate your input.
