Hi. My roommate got her tractor stuck in the mud trying to mow next to a creek. I drove my TJ down a hill and through the woods and pulled her out with my winch. When I went to leave, I didn't wanna tear up the grass on the uphill return so I went to put it in 4HI. I pulled the tcase lever all the way back and the 4WD light did not come on and when I tried to give it some gas, it sounded... clunky. Kinda like grinding gears, but not that rough. I put it over into 4LO and it worked fine.
I was bitching the next day to my friend and I shown him the problem. I noticed then during my demo that if I pull it all the way back, I have that problem. But if I push it slowly back toward 2WD, it will go into 4HI. He said I should get an upgraded tcase linkage. Would that fix it so it will go into 4HI when I pull it all the way back, or is that unrelated? I mean, it's not a big deal so long as I now know I can just push it slightly forward to get into 4HI but if there is a fix I'd do it cuz I hate little stupid things like that heh.
