Hi,
Jeep 1997 tj, questions
Moving from USA to Spain - what modifications to get street legal.
I have red tail lights, red brake lights and red turn signals - is this legal or do I need to get a separate amber turn signal.
What about white reverse/back up lights - are they required in Spain.
Do I need to install a fog light.
I have a suspension lift - is that legal
Tires are oversized but I have extra wide fender flares covering the tires - is that OK.
Looking forward to your response.
Ed

I think you'll probably have more luck on a local Spanish forum with local rules and regs. I had to get an American car legalized in another country and I think that'll be your best bet. Once you know what modifications need to be made, people here might be able to help you more. Best of luck!

I was stationed at Rota Naval Air Station MANY years ago, then the parking lights/directional lights had to be the same as the headlights. ie... clear headlights, (like 90% of us have) you will need clear parking lights/directional lights (Front). If you have amber parking lights you can get amber headlights, (at least back then it was a fog light seal beam headlight. At that time I had a Pontiac, i cut the amber parking light lenses off and put clear plexiglass on them and super glued them, lasted for the 3 years I was there. I dont remember any other requirements.
Things have probably changed alot since then, so do your research.

It’s going to be a pain in the ass, especially if there are any mods done to it.
I lived in Madrid for 3 years and thought about shipping my jeep there but there is no way my jeep would have passed inspection since all of the mods were done by me and I have no receipts.
The whole time I was there I only saw one modified jeep, and not many jeeps in general.

What part of Spain are you moving to?
