Remember what we talked about last time? Sometimes doing it yourself can end up costing more time and money... Haha!
No, I hear you though. This isn't something that is complicated so I'm with you on this one. It's probably one of those things that you can do yourself and have it be more effective in the end.
I absolutely remember what we talked about last time Chris! I started doing the Food Saver thing a bunch of years ago because I had excess food that needed to be preserved. Worked out really well when I got between contracts in 2009, and didn't have a ton of money for much of anything. Seriously went about a year and a half without having to buy much of anything and it didn't disrupt how we ate or what we did. Everything that was needed was on the shelf ready to go. Oil change? No problem. Dinner? No problem. etc. etc. It's really kind of cool. No matter what the economy or the finances are like at the moment, it's all good. The only real expenses that I have if times get tough are stuff like milk, cheese, gas and of course taxes and rent. If I can make enough money to cover those things my lifestyle doesn't change much, other than I have more time on my hands.
It's a Tim "The Tool Man" Taylor thing with me though. It's impossible to leave well enough alone it seems. It must be my Northern European heritage and upbringing or something. Complicated never really bothered me. Complication means opportunity for improvement! There are a whole bunch of things that I've done that turned out better built and engineered, but not really worth it in the short run. Sometimes not even in the long run.
I buy my coffee at Costco, the Sumatra whole beans. They are only available for part of the year, but I drink coffee year round. The factory packaging frankly just sucks, so it gets repackaged. Problem solved! It works really well for meats, like game and beef where you have a lot of it all at once and it takes awhile to consume. It's a must for seafood. It just gnawed at me that there were those last few inches of vacuum out there that I just knew I wasn't getting. (no jokes about size not mattering, OK? I'm a pitcher not a catcher anyway, and I know what team I play on.)
Well, back to staring at the Jeep and noodling out the next mods!
