Warn X8000i thoughts?

Bring a 5/32" allen wrench and take the planetary off for a little inspection before you purchase it.

When i rebuilt mine i just purchased new seals, drum bushings, warn sticker, and a tube of the correct grease for the planetary. Hardest part was cleaning all the old grease off the planetary.

By the time you spend $400 to $500, you could have a brand new one, with warranty, for $620. Hardly seems worth it.

Freespool lever not turning is most likely the sliding ring gear is stuck or the clutch lever is damaged. Could be an easy and inexpensive fix or not but there is no way to tell without opening it up.

FWIW, I spent a little under $100 for parts on my $300 M8000 - new seals (including clutch handle seal), new wire boots, a new sun gear, and the obligatory sticker. Mine was a poster child for why powder coat isn't always the best choice for aluminum, so I rattle canned it and will keep it covered.

I bought parts from these guys: https://winchserviceparts.com/

MUCH cheaper than anybody else I found.
