What brand oil and oil filter do you prefer?

I use Valvoline, and any filter but Fram.
Those anti-Fram webpages on the internet are just old wive's tales. I used to believe the same thing but learned I had been wrong for years.

I switched all three of my vehicles (Jeep/Lexus/BMW) to the Fram Tough Guard years ago, it's actually a very good filter that has a higher filtration efficiency (99%) than many far more expensive filters that often only have a 95% filtration efficiency.

The key to protecting our engines is simple... change your oil and filter at reasonable intervals. Personally I use dino 10W-30 year-round here in SOCAL. I would switch to a synthetic during the winter if I lived in an area that got super cold like North Dakota, Alaska, Minnesota, etc. since that is where a synthetic's key benefit is... it flows better in extremely cold areas.

Edit: I just noticed Chris is still censoring names of other forums... substitute those asterisks for Wrangler Forum with no space between those two words to see the writeup on my visit to the Fram R&D facility in Ohio years ago.

Jerry, that sucks all your Photobucket photos no longer work! What a bummer.

No mine is a 6 cyl. I’ll look again, but all I’m seeing is this:

True but did you miss the note just above all the photos that Photobucket stopped displaying? There's a fix to most browsers that causes the Photobucket photos to start displaying again. I can see them. :)

Jerry do you know what that setting is...drives me nuts with the stupid cat hanging down where the photo should be.

I just noticed that, thanks for pointing it out!

I use mobil1 and a Mopar filter. Runs smooth and cold starts are easy.
