I heard you're adding some of that GM hot sauce under the hood?

That’s the plan

Today I did away with another engine compartment noise, I replaced the serpentine belt idler and tensioner, the idler seemed ok, no looseness or tight spots but the tensioner bearing was all loose and rattly and the spring wasn't keeping steady tension on the belt
I tried to replace the belt too but the one I have is a hair too short so I'll need to get another one tomorrow (good thing I didn't cut the old one off)
And yesterday we finally made it to Fern Falls

If you have a/c I have a barely used serpentine belt about 5k to 6k on it. Your welcome to it.

Tweeked my drag link again. Seems every time I think I have my steering wheel finally centered the next time I take it out it's cocked to the right again. I'm beginning to wonder if my driver side unit bearing is going bad and pulling it to the left.

So this was more of a "can I do this" rather than "I need to do this." I mounted my GMRS radio to a rail across the top of my roll cage earlier in the year. The problem is that I didn't have a good place to mount the mic that didn't hang down in my way. I did some research and found that the mic plug on those is slightly different from an old fashion telephone plug, which it resembles. I finally found the right parts and today I decided to test it out and see if it all worked, and sure it did! (Amazon shopping list later). My TJ didn't use any of the factory auxiliary switches, so I cut one of the blank out to add the wall plug I had bought. I had previously replaced the cigarette lighter with a dual USB power port. A oscillating cutter made quick work of the plastic and after some trimming I got the plug installed. Behind that plate there is a nice space to run the wires through. I outsmarted myself by adding shrink wrap to keep the dust out, but I ended up compressing the clip and one of the plugs separated from the connector, so I had to cut it off and everything was fine. Like I said, it was more of a could I than I needed to, but we'll see how it works.

(This is behind the switch plate)

All done.

Here is the amazon list for the parts (note one of them isn't available currently):

Anyway, it was a fun project and very simple.

Cheers!

I like the dental floss trick there for the accumulators. If you brake clean them off and use assembly goo it will hold them up in there also. I'm sure your done now.

Nice work though

It was actually 30# braid fishing line that I happened to have on hand. Figured that was easier than letting all fall into the pan then trying to sort it out later.

Coming home last night from work and my dash lights plus centre consol lights were flickering...off an on everytime I went over a bump... It was like a bloody disco in there. :ROFLMAO: ... Im guessing its a loose connection under or behind the dash....
Does anyone know where all the dash light cables meet.... ??
