What did you do to your TJ today?

Bought this Jeep and it had been wheeled much harder then I thought. 75K miles and 35s. But no rust. You experts know the story from here. 4 inch lift with OEM Control arm, broke. Brackets, ball joints and on and on. That’s all been addressed now and just got it back from paint for hood, window surround, and cowling. Had been painted with lacquer and spider webbed. Had the flairs, front bumper, front edge of hood and fenders bed lined. First wash after that the old way in my drive with a garden hose.

YJ brake lines went on, along with swaybar disconnect storage pins and mud flaps. Not a fan of the look but what are ya gonna do.

Paint the bright bits black, trim them up…may round the lower corners? For letter of law I think most states say minimum they have to cover to the half way point of the tire so go for minimum. Get some art on there..Just some thoughts

Looks great! Yeah, I just went through a very similar situation with a 04 Rubicon with low miles, but previous hard wheeling. Lots of worn out, bent, and broken stuff that had to be replaced. It's worth it in the end though!

Rented a coolant pressure tester from advanced auto and it took all of about 10 seconds to realize my radiator is done. I'm a little surprised I have any coolant left with how fast it was draining out of the holes/cracks. I could hear it dripping in the pan I placed underneath at 7 psi

Bought a Denso radiator on rockauto. I know, I know buy mopar. I guess I'll just have to learn my lesson before I drop that kind of money.

I can replace the radiator in less than an hour and my local O'Reilly will give me the antifreeze (just had to do this) under warranty. I can't justify the $500+ for a Mopar radiator.

That Denso will be ok. Several here have tried them with no issues yet, that I know of. I just put one in my Silverado back in the fall.

Interesting how you say it’s worth it in the end. That’s what I keep telling myself so I don’t get discouraged everyone I have 1 more thing that needs to be fixed on mine. Bought it August last year and I’m still doing things. I know it never really ends, but c’mon! Haha

I know... I was the same way. I'd fix one thing, then find two more things that needed attention. I bought mine in October, and really only started to drive it regularly a few weeks ago. I finally got all of the major (and most of the minor) stuff on my list taken care of. Just stick with it, you'll get it! Everything you finish is one more thing off the list, and brings you that much closer to done!

Closer to being broke too. Haha!
