Tore down & lubed JJs on Savvy Arms and Trackbars. They are brand new and clearly needed lubed before going in.
Gotta use plenty of anti-sieze here in the rust belt.
Before:

Level of lube from the factory. About the same across all the JJs.

@John Cooper is in charge of the ducks.
Glad you posted this. I have brand new lower RockJock arms I need to install. Was debating about prelubing them or just installing as is. What method did you use to service the JJs? I’m hesitant to pull the trigger on the JJ tools based on cost but may have to just suck it up

No, traded the wife in on a Jeep. Actually the PO put a couple of funky bends in the shift lever to accommodate the transfer case drop he had installed. Now that I have somewhat of a tuck I have undone some of the bends but still needs more straightening. At least it no longer hits the console in 1/3/5.
John is a big fat pervert.
I got a JB SSSYE and a new Tom Woods double cardan driveshaft waiting to go in as well. Kinda wish I had time to take the transfer case off to do it. This is my daily driver tho. I gotta sneak these parts on as fast as possible whenever I get the chance.
pre-lube fo sho. i made up my own tools from some recommendations from here but misplaced them in one of my moves.
ended up getting the jj tools and don't regret it one bit. 20 jj's takes a while.. can't wait to get rid of 4 of em soon
Go with the tools. You won't be disappointed. I picked them up and they made the job a breeze. Still took about 3.5 hours but that was split between the JJ greasing and anti-seizing the threads & reassembly.
I used up about half a container of this:
Red Line CV-2 Synthetic High-Performance Extreme Pressure Grease with Red Moly, 14 Ounce Jar https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0053O9FQS/?tag=wranglerorg-20
I’m assuming you guys had to grab both the 2” tool and 2.5” one as well?
John is a big fat pervert.
