Novak Conversions Jeep Wrangler TJ engine mounts

What did you do to your TJ today?

Just got back from Moab…what an absolutely stunning place… hired a Jeep from Twisted Jeep for the afternoon…(felt like I was cheating on my TJ with a younger model 😂)
Definitely a bucket list day today.
We ended up Gemini Bridge and Long Canyon (both easy trails but enough for me at this stage as we ran out of time)
We finished up the day in the arches National Park.
Moab and the trails did not disappoint the views are breathtaking

Phase II of the phone/electronics mount is underway…
Fitment:
12.50” length of 1” diameter aluminum rod, w/ 1” deep 1/4-20 blind holes centered in each end.

Since the fit was good, I shot a coat of textured black over it and we’ll see how it looks once it’s all the same color.
The brackets have a gloss finish, they’ll get the same treatment to eliminate any glare or reflection that may cause.

I know, it looks a bit like a paper towel holder now, but with the brackets attached I think it will fit right in and be a solid addition/upgrade to the current brackets and holders.

What are the brackets attached to? I’m trying to think what is behind that, but can’t remember.

Glad you enjoyed the area. One of my favorites.

There isn’t really very much real estate under the radio bezel.
This initial version is secured around the dash frame with zip ties on the left side and simply held in place by the bezel when it is tightened down by the 2 screws between the bezel and the defrost vent.
The bezel is lifted a bit due to not having trimmed anything away so far.
This pic shows a different angle.

I’ll be revising the attachment method as needed following the new phone holders and ball mount arms.

In the 2nd pic, I like the old man's face in the rock at the upper right.

No food on the trails…. But said goodbye to Utah by going to Texas roadhouse for a farewell steak dinner…
So long Utah I’ll be back!!
