What did you do to your TJ today?

Today, instead of taking a nice drive along the OC coast to find some lunch, we turned around and limped home w/ a P0306 (#6 misfire) code.
Light was solid & flashing.
Pulled the plugs, no outliers other than the gap being closer to 0.045 than 0.04. #6 was not soaked, so that suggests no fuel.
I put in new plugs since these have maybe 30-40K on them.
No change... still ran like crap. Confirming my previous fuel concerns.

I don't own (and don't want to own) fuel line tools.

I think this one is headed to a shop for a more accurate assessment & repair.
You can rent a noid light set from O'Reilly's. That will tell you if it is getting signal to fire. You just unplug the injector, plug in the noid light, and start the engine.
 
I built an attic for the cargo area of my LJ. It holds my half door soft uppers but I made it mainly to carry camping equipment (without the uppers). So far I've put (all folding) ... 1 camp chair, 1 2' x 4' table, 1 side table, 1 stool for roof access and a blanket/tarp roll in it ... and I still have some room left.

Or swap injectors see if the problem moves.

Rather than messing around swapping 2 injectors, and then possibly replacing only one, I'd rather pay someone to replace them all (assuming that's the issue). It is still quite possible that it isn't getting a signal to open... which I'm not prepared to troubleshoot in my 'spare time'.

Remember, I'd be into the cost of tools in order to swap the injectors myself, and it's not a job I want to do anyway.
The shop will also have the equipment to verify fuel pressure at the rail as well as compression test- and I'll have them fix the oil leak on the pan bolts above the starter too.
And I'll have him look at the brakes while he has it. I'm growing tired of the maintenance... I only want to do the shit I want to do.
What the hell, I'll probably have him change the oil too!

I've got better shit to do with my time these days.

There is no special tools required to replace the injectors. You don't have to remove the fuel line to the rail. I swapped mine in 30 minutes in the campground on our NYE ride. Just make sure the old o-rings are out and you lube the new ones with a petroleum jelly.

But if you want to pay, then so be it. It isn't hard.
