What did you do to your TJ today?

Nothing today! Went to go for a drive and I heard metal thumping loud (3 mph) like the driveshaft or something was going to fall out. I backed it back up and heard a scraping like when your brakes are completely shot. Metal on metal . Luckily I only drove 30 yards. No play in the u-joints, but that means nothing. WAY too hot and humid already to crawl under it and figure it out. It was perfectly fine yesterday when I drove it. It's had a rattle up front since I drove it a lot in 4wd when we had ice storms.🥺

Installed a new amp

I needed to replace the front brakes due wear on my 05 LJ. I had not planned to replace the calipers because they were replaced four years ago when the brakes were replaced by a repair shop. After removing the passenger caliper we noted it did look right. Looking at the picture do you see anything wrong/missing? So off to a auto parts store to buy a new caliper. We did up-grade the brake to Black Magic pads and rotors.

We have had a record breaking heat wave up here in BC for the past week. Today it is 47C and feels like 52C. Perfect excuse to get out with no windows and half doors, and climb a mountain.

You should enter that first pick for Ride of the Month. It's pretty awesome looking.

Poked around under the hood with a voltmeter - especially with the PDC. Looking for a switched 12 volt source. There is one - but it only energized at RUN, not ACC, which is what I really want. I'll poke around with the schematics a bit more, but I'm starting to think it would just be easier to source the signal from inside the cab - which I can make work.
