What else do I need with my lift?

I just purchased this ‘05 TJ. It came with a 2.5in RC lift. With it being RC it was a cheap option that only included the springs and shocks. I want to build this Jeep right. With that I know I need to put some money into it upgrading the other parts to get its geometry back to normal. Wondering if it’s worth buying each part individually, or just buying a whole new lift kit “kit” with EVERYTHING I need. If the first option is better, what else do I need? Adjustable track bars, new control arms, what else? Transfer case drop? I’m willing to put money into it, but not empty my savings.

You can go either away- what you need to realize is the chosen lift height is the predicator for what you need.

2.5” typically does not things 4” creates.

Is there any wrong with your set up now that you don’t like? Drivability issues?

A few us are running 2-2.5” lifts with nothing but springs and properly size shocks and happy with the install.

No real problems I don’t think, but I’m also no expert. I have a shake at around 25-30mph coming from the rear end which I believe is my rear trac bar. My rear axle is also shifted about 2in (to the right I believe?). I just like the peace of mind knowing that the jeep is properly built, which I don’t really have right now.

check your control arms for bad bushings, that shake could be those.

Another thing to consider is driveline angle, here is a link that has some info.

What do you plan to do with this jeep should be the first question.
I would totally fix the rear track issue, wobble at that speed I have found usually to be a tire balancing problem

I would get rid of the rc springs and shocks. The steel quality in the springs isn't good. They will sag on you. OME,JKS,BDS,Currie are what I'd be looking at.

you will want longer sway bar links, shocks, bumpstop extenstions and possibly an sye at 2.5" lift.

Some jks or currie adjustable trackbars too
