What heat insulation for transmission tunnel?

I don't have carpet. The PO painted the floor and not with bed liner. On long trips the tranny tunnel will get so hot you will hurt your bare leg if it touches it.

If I remember correctly there is a sticker on the tranny tunnel under the carpet in mine warning not to remove the carpet for that reason. The carpet seems to do a pretty good job insulating. I definitely wouldn’t remove it without putting in something else to protect my feet. Maybe lizard skin
