What Jeep is this from?

Trying to replace blower and resister in my 1998 jeep tj but it doesn't have the stock hvac and I found this dash piece stuck up in there behind glove box. So I need to find out what year to look up how to do it.

What do you mean it doesn't have the stock HVAC? I believe in 98 they still used the sliders, or at least on SOME 98's they used that. Post 98 used the dials. The two systems are HARD to convert between, so I would be surprised if you truly had a non-stock HVAC system. Pics?

To answer your question, the piece in the picture is the passenger airbag disable switch.
It is located in/behind the glovebox on a 98 TJ...at least it is on my 98 TJ Sport.
It has nothing to do with your HVAC.

The plate on dash is the 98 model with slider, but everything underneath is different. Can't get to fan or anything without taking the entire thing out

Well yes, but all YouTube videos I've seen have all the same stuff under dash, but mine is completely different. I wanted to replace the blower but it looks like I have to remove entire dash just to do so.

Why not just look up your Vin code and see what it says about your Wrangler and all its options?

Remove your battery, in the engine compartment. The HVAC blower is located behind the battery, right below the CPU. One plug and three screw to take it out.

Sounds like you're looking at YT videos for later models. My 06 fan drops out the bottom into the passenger floor. My 99 went out through the firewall, from behind the battery. The HVAC boxes are completely different.
