Best way would be to post a pic of your rear end..people swap things
Ok I will do that in the morning. I think it may have been swapped and has lockers in it now. Don’t know a lot about it
Could be just about anything back there..8.8 even if it's been swapped..pics will tell for sure
Rubber plug is Dana 35 and metal plug is Dana 44.

The standard Dana 35's differential cover is perfectly oval with a snap-in black plastic lubricant fill hole plug. The significantly stronger optional upgrade Dana 44's differential cover is kinda shaped like a stop sign with a threaded steel plug in its lubricant fill hole.
Should be a Dana 35. Thats what I destroyed in my 1999 TJ and replaced with a Dana 44 complete from east coast gears.

Love it!! I went with rear dics brakes and 4:10s with a true trac. Everything was rock solid and all the brackets fit perfectly with my 4" lift.
