What size wheels and tires and why?

I love 33’ and most recently 35’s on Jeep TJ. The 33-35 size on 15” rims provides the best look and function for me at the expensive of gas mileage but it’s a Jeep

These 15" with 35's because they are bad ass. But then that my opinion ;)

33x10.5x15

Why? They were on it when I bought it! lol but I do prefer the look of a 15 on a TJ with 35's and smaller. I also like the 10.5's and plan to stick with them in the future, but nothing is certain. Will stick with 33's for a while and maybe one day go 35's.

15 for 31’s
16 for 33;s
17 for 35’s

Because the proportions look right and the sidewall stability is proportional.

How I would have made a stock base TJ:
31x10.5 on 15x8-5.5BS for 0-2" lift

TJ Rubicon or base LJ:
33x10.5 on 15x8-5.25BS for 3-4" lift

LJ Rubicon:
35x12.5 on 17x9-4BS with ~5" (total) lift

285-17-70 tires (33”). I will have kayaks and other toys on top and want it to be easier to get off than it would be with bigger tires and the associated lift needed to really use them. 17” rims for ease of finding tire choices in the future, and I don’t need the tire sidewall many want for rock crawling. I just need to be able to get down some nasty trails and off of a sandy beach.

Are the 40s for blue or the rig that's getting the LS? And either way; are the 40s coming to Moab next year?

For the red one. I'm hoping it will but I was planning on working on it the last 3 weekends and that didn't happen due to the new arrival coming early. I'm ready to work on it, Just need some time.

I like the 15" rims w/ anything smaller than 35" tires. I like tires with sidewall.
We run 32" because our lift is only 2.5", and they are way cheaper than 33".

I'm new here and maybe I'm putting this in the wrong thread but bear with me.

I have a non-lifted 02 with 17s. See the attached images. I don't plan on lifting it, I don't use the Jeep for serious off-roading, and I use it as my daily to work; 16 miles round trip. With that being said, I would like to purchase all-terrain tires. I'm curious if anyone has this setup and what size tire do you use. What's the largest I can go?

Running JK Moab 17" wheels, 265/70/17 AT tires (31.6" diameter), 1 1/4" body lift and 1" JKS engine lift. Haven't had any issues except slight rubbing on sway bar at full lock. A couple of washers on the stops would solve that problem.

stock without body lift.

See what the TJ Rubicon came from the factory with.
