Looking for a super quiet muffler. Is there anything quieter than a Walker Quiet flow. I want stock quiet or quieter. Hunting on a lease with other hunters. Trying to be courteous and also dont want to pressure game on my way to the stand. My 2018 GMC Sierra is super quiet with a 5.3. There's gotta be something out there just as quiet for a 4.0 sahara 5 speed.

I got my setup slightly quieter by adding an additional glass pack muffler to the oem one - didn’t notice any performance loss but reduced some noise.

I like quiet, my engine and cooling fan already make more noise than my factory exhaust does unless I really get on it. At some point it becomes a chase of diminishing returns.

Went with the Walker Quiet Flow. It is much quieter than the old rusted flowmaster the PO had on it. I would still like it quieter but I'm just gonna have to live with what I got.

I'm looking to replace my damaged oem muffler with something quiet for hunting as well.i think I'll go for stock replacement in the biggest size i can fit and keep a cat under there as they really help.
Something I'll say about making noise is slow down and even cruise in low if you have the time. One old timer i hunt with just whispers around in his 4.2l yj.first i thought it was his muffler but after driving it i noticed its how he drives!

I just had the same put on mine in the stainless version. Nice and quiet compared to the previous Banks kit.

Just installed the Walker Stainless on mine along with a Walker tailpipe. Caught myself over cranking after install not realizing jeep was already running. No drone up to and cruising at 75 mph.
Fantastic to hear.. I'm tired of all the butt thunder my current flowmaster I installed when I was 18 puts out!

Drive an electric vehicle :) My EV is so quiet I have to be aware that people out walking might not know it's there. Still, thanks for the question because I too am thinking of replacing the muffler on my 01 and want something at least as quiet as the original.

Know what you mean. I had to chop off the muffler and tail to replace the rear main seal back at the beginning of the year. Liked the sound at first but the looks from my son and my ear drums finally forced me to replace it.

After a few different Flowmasters rusted off my XJ, I went with a Walker Quietflow SS. Seemed to hold up well and probably the quietest exhaust for a Jeep 4.0 without adding in an additional resonator.

would you know what part number Walker Quiet-flow SS muffler you installed? Did you find a SS tailpipe?

I used this muffler.

Walker 21456 Quiet-Flow Stainless... https://www.amazon.com/dp/B000VKT19K/?tag=wranglerorg-20

And this tailpipe

Walker Exhaust 54227 Exhaust Tail Pipe 2.25" Inlet (Outside) 2.25" Outlet (Outside) https://www.amazon.com/dp/B000C91G7K/?tag=wranglerorg-20

the tailpipe is aluminized steel, not stainless. It's held up fine so far (since February 2020) but I'm not a severe use case.

Sorry for digging up a dead thread, but has anyone moved to one of the suggestions here from a Banks exhaust?

I kind of like the sound of the current banks on mine, but also when I'm on a trail in the woods, it's kind of annoying driving around at 10mph.

When I bought my second jeep, it came with a Banks exhaust, Soon after I busted it on a rock and switched to the Walker sound FX, Months later I redid that job and went with a thrush Muffler. I still do not fully love the sound of the thrush and will likely put a flow master on. Links below:

Walker: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01FUE7RJW?tag=wranglerorg-20

I can send a clip of the idle and how it sounds running later with the Thrush if you want.
