Wheel question

I am hoping to get some expertise in regard to wheels and need to understand offset. I have no plans to add any type of lift and currently have 31x10.50 tires on stock wheels so obviously i do have a rub issue on hard turns. My question is how do I determine how much offset as it looks like there are a couple of options to eliminate the rub and do I go with 8 inch wheels? Appreciate the feedback.

If you like the stock rims, just add a washer (or two) behind each steering stop. You won't notice a difference driving, but it'll be enough to stop the rubbing.

If you want new rims, and don't want them to stick out too far, look for ones that have 4.5" backspacing. We generally talk backspacing and not offset when talking about rims here.

Right, 4.5 was one of the options. Rims are shot so i will be replacing them. Thanks.

Yes, go with 8” rims. 3.75-4.25” are good backspacing for TJ’s and you won’t rub for sure. What exact BS you want us completely up to your preference in look.
