Thought I should post a new thread for this.

I have two set of axle and trying to decide which set to keep for my LJ build

The 04 LJ came with dana 30/44 ratio 3.73, and I have a set of 30/35 geared at 4.88. Running 35" tires and will like to keep them at 35" if not 37.

The 30/35 set doesn't have disc brakes in the back.

I drive mostly in the city, some highway.

Thanks all

Keep the 44 and regear it, it's a much stronger axle than the Dana 35, unless that 35 has been upgraded to a super 35 kit.

Agree. Regear the Dana 30/Dana 44 combo is to 5.13. Those 4.88s are awful with the 42rle and 35" tires. Honestly, I'd buy a front Dana 44 and gear everything to 5.38. Forget about 37s.

I will be buildimg the LJ with an LS 5.3 and possibly the 4l60e, if that makes any difference.

Google said 513.

With running Ls 5.3/4l60e i read mix info on what gear is needed to run 35s.

I think you should go to grimmjeeper.com

And put in all the GM stuff you’re putting in your Jeep, and see what you would want.

What does the GM LS engine power band ideal range for what you’re doing, with the tires and GM Transmission.

Then you can look at the different tire and axle gearing ratios to get your setup to match the rig for being a street mostly rig performers.

That’s not a cut on street, the vast majority of Jeep odometer miles are run on a street of some sort, ha, despite what some folks post or claim. Ha
