Whining on cold start

On cold morning. Cranks slow buts starts everytime. Once started there is a loud whistling coming from under the hood hard to tell definitely. Can't be the transmission, right? Is it the pulley system?

Most likely a pulley, a belt or a vacuum leak. Mine was caused by loose intake manifold bolts.

Possible power steering pump getting worn. Hydraulic pump wines wildly on a couple of my older tractors when it gets below freezing. Calms down once the system warms up.
If it's a vacuum leak it should stay. A bearing can also whine when cold, yet quiet down when it gets warmed up too.

True, unless it's a manifold vacuum leak.
