Wildman's TJ is getting a face lift

Well I almost thought I was walking home.....

Died on me 3-4 times on the drive.

P0344 Camshaft Position sensor & P0339 Crankshaft Position sensor.

I've already got the crankshaft sensor ordered but I'll order the camshaft sensor now also.

No more test drives until I get both sensors replaced.

Ain’t this remote tuning stuff fun? Carbs are cool but tuned EFI is the shit.

It's a lot different than years ago.
But better than the old days of having to send your PCM off to be tuned and hoping it's right when you get it back.

Other than the sensor issues the Jeep ran good and everything else seems to be working well. My transmission temperature was in the 130⁰ range when I was cruising @ 55 MPH. Of course when I had to slow down the temperature went up around 180⁰.

You running a tranny cooler, Rick?

Yes i am. Might have to go to something larger. But then I'd have to move things around. Or figure out where to add a second cooler?

Edit: What temperature are you seeing with your setup?
I'm more concerned with the slow crawling temperature than cruising down the road.

Edit #2: With it cooling through the radiator it's going to be close to ECT temperature isn't it? On my truck and the motorhome I'm about 10⁰ cooler than my ECT temperature. So seeing 180⁰ isn't out of question with ECT at 190⁰.

And NO DAMNIT the brakes aren't fixed yet.
Plus I've got something going on with the power steering and Hydro-Vac for the brakes. I've either got air in the lines still or something else. It's just not working the way it should.

I think I have the same vacuum coolant filler thing as you. I finagled it to use it like the vacuum bleeder I posted earlier and had good success with it. I was hesitant to mention it because how I set it up turned the brake fluid into a fine mist... But that setup can pull a lot of vacuum

Washed the hood in preparation for tomorrow and the cutting....
Will move things around and pull the Jeep out of the garage and put the hood inside. Then getting it all layed out and marked the holes.
Then the fiberglass hood will get set outside until I can sell or? But it's got the holes in it for the hood pins so I don't know if it would be sellable.

I am going to try and use the factory tranny cooler from my 05 Ram doner. It’s a standalone cooler. Nothing routed to the radiator.

OK folk here ya'll go. As I've already said NO the brake issue isn't fixed. YES there are still some issues that need to be addressed but overall I'm fairly happy with how things are going.. These little things are to be expected considering all that I've done this thing. I'm a HELL of a lot farther along now than I was last year at this time.

So if you're bored you can spend 27 minutes of your time watching me drive around. At the 13:30 mark I hit it and had it going 80 MPH.

The GoPro video is still loading and won't be ready for a while now.

I've got to relook at my O/D switch and how I've got things wired since the O/D button isn't working.

Are you referring to the factory O/D switch on the dash? If so I'm pretty sure that switch won't work and you have to install a new switch to turn off the O/D.
I haven't done that on mine yet, nor have I hooked up the 4x4 light wire either.

I don't have a factory O/D switch on mine, never have since mine started out as a manual & 4 cylinder. I've got a aftermarket O/D switch & had figured out on the Magnum how to get a O/D light I'd installed on the center console by using a self-latching relay to get it kit. So, I need to go back and look at the wiring Chris includes with the harness and trace it all out and figure out why it's not working now.

Trying to go by what little memory I have left, but I think it's just a temporary ground that turns off the O/D..??..??

That's on my list of some things to do on mine over the winter as I should have more time to finish up those last little things.

I could say that I'm much busier in the summer and people would tend to believe it, but it's much more of what call the summer lazies...😂 and busy looking like I'm busy...

Yes a momentary ground is what toggles the O/D On or Off. That part is easy. But there isn't any way to turn On or Off the O/D light. My Old dash didn't have a O/D light since back in 1997 O/D wasn't an option but the new dash might but I already have a O/D light on my center console.

Right now neither are working so I've got to mess with it and first see if I can get the O/D working, then once that is working I can try to get my O/D light working again.

The smaller black button in the middle is my O/D switch.

Their located below the Shifter.

Lit up with the lights on so I can find them at night.

The O/D light is above the shifter.

Self-latching relay

I had it working before so I'm hoping I can figure it out and get it working again. I got some little boxes to put the relay into also.

Chris told Jeff that there wasn't a way to turn on the O/D light so me figuring it out was kind of amazing. But that worked with the Magnum but I don't know yet if the same applies to the Hemi.

I don't have a 4x4 switch on my transfer case so I don't have anything for that plug to plug into. It was an option on the STaK's but I figured I really didn't need a light telling me I was in 4WD. I'm OLD and grew up with 4x4's that didn't have a light telling us we were in 4WD.

Chris told me the same thing about the light, but there could possibly be some way to get it on but not any easy simple solution.

I'm far from an electrician so I might not ever figure out an indicator light unless someone else does and I could copy what they did.

Yeah, I'm not very concerned about if I get this light hooked up since if I can't remember or at the very least look down at the shifter and know what state the transfer case is in, I probably shouldn't be behind the wheel.. LOL
